90% of time (Acid 4 did this too) when i save a Acid Pro 6 Project with a VSTi in it .. and come back to it later, the VSTi no longer responds to midi from my external midi controler (Maudio). It can be a minute later or a day-its as if Acid looses the Midi channel On/off data ? When re-opened I cant get Midi to fire up via Midi Pref window, the Enable button is on-everything IS set same as when i saved it (it WAS working THEN)... ...and HAVE TO Delete the VSTi ,often loosing the settings and re-add the Vsti , go thru activating the midi in the pref window. this is very irritating, to say the least. anyone know if this can be fixed ? Please help. jb Message last edited on8/25/2007 9:59:06 PM byGES. |

Could you provide specific VST Instrument(s) that this occurs with? What M-Audio MIDI interface are you using? The Echo Mia or something else? Peter |

Peter, Thanks...The main one is NI's B4, also does it with Arturia Moog, Swar Systems, NI's Absynth (diff companies). Ex: I can Open Acid, insert a VSTi, assign Midi, have it working FINE..Save As... Close it, Re-open it immeditaly and NO Midi action. A little more detail, SOMETIMES i can fix it by reassigning (back to where they were, which doesnt APPear to have changed according to image, but internally has changed) the Midi In and Out icons in the track view - its as if when i re-open a proj, it jams thse and by reassing it unjams it - not sure. The Maudio is my midi controller (Axiom Keyboard), it jams/drops whether or not i am using this. Sound Card is Echos' Mia (no midi). I have had it do it on diff PC's over the years with Acid 4-current and diff VSTi's, controllers,etc... I reinstalled it on fresh PC, still does it. It just seems Acid's midi handling or VST (VSTi /VST FX) is open to corruption some how....(i also have stability issues with all or most VST FX.) I would like to feel confident that what i am saving WILL be there later. It would be great if Sony could tighten the VST-Midi thing up, as i like the Sony products . Not sure about the different versions, but I have B4II, as part of my recently acquired Komplete 4 package, and it works perfectly in Acid (Pro6). Incidentally the K4 package is amazing quality - I'm still discovering new parts of the package - Guitar Rig, Acoustic Piano, Reaktor, etc. etc. etc etc .... |

I am using NI-B4 II (updated). It works OK , its the Midi contrl NOT being there after saving and reopening , is the main prob. The 2nd issue (VST Fx-Instr' issue) SEEMS to be, just that they seem to hang the Prog, and teeter on edge of stability , and hog OR Clog its (Acids) resources or architecture, even on a New PC, fresh install, updated Software Vers and 3ghz / 1 gig ram. For Ex, DX stuff (even though just FX) seems to be smooth and refined, but VST architecture (FX and Inst's ) seems like it is not quite on same page with Acid as far as the communication between the the 2 platforms..... .....I'm not saying it is so, just how it seems. ACID support, are you there? -another clue i've noticed that may be related to the Midi settings being dropped or change in VSTi's. I have noticed with some of my VST FX , the PARAMETERS on FX knopbs will change by themselves whenever i switch view to diff FX (by clicking on it) - this SEEMS very similar to the Midi Parameter issue . Please let me know - this is VERY irritating . thanks , GES |
