Upgraded to catch some fixes. Can't get a pre-roll to preview a mix. Dragged the source over the destination, set levels, hit preview, starts at the beginning of what I dragged over every time, never before. I have pre-roll set for 2 seconds (and post), and 10 seconds for non-real time, and all I'm doing is mixing in new audio and trying to judge the amount of pre-fade. Impossible this way. What's the deal?

Check your options -> preferences -> previews (although it sounds like you have?).

I find it works fine for me. Although I did have to restart the application after making the setting changes for them to take effect.
(using the mousedrag / mix method and copy / paste special method)

Hope that helps you

Ken

If a file is already open when you change the pref on the prefs page, it does not pick up the change.

That is, individual data windows remember their pre/post-roll states while they are open. So you can have some with or some without and not have to toggle the global pref. The pref page checkbox is just the default state when the file is opened.

To toggle pre/post-roll while the file is already open, just use the effect context menu (right click above the "More..." button in the effect dialog ) to check or un-check the appropriate entry. Or you can just close and re-open the file after changing the global pref.

Sorry - was on vacation. I've downloaded 9c so I'll try the global settings I wanted again and let you know if there is still a problem.
thanks -
