Subject:Need Help! Acid Crashing!!

I have a brand new machine that is built specifically for Acid. On the machine, is Acid 6.0d, Sound Forge 9.0a, and Reason 3.0. Sound Forge works flawlessly, however when I start Acid, it runs fine for a while then, either stutters and stops playing or if I click on a loop to add it to the project, Acid will shut down. This is even before I add a rewire device or a VSTI. I'm hoping somebody can help me. At first, I thought I didn't have enough RAM for the machine I was working on, so that is why I built the machine I am speaking about.

Unfortunately, you didn't research what hardware is most compatible with ACID before you built it. I see from your profile you are using an EMU1212M. There have been lots of problems with the EMU audio devices and ACID. Just do a search on "emu" or read this post called: Serious Acid Stutter. This may be one of the known issues with EMU drivers. Try updating your drivers to the very latest but if you truly want a PC build for ACID, get yourself an audio card from M-Audio or Echo. Stay away from companies like EMU, Creative, & MOTU.
