Subject:Sound Forge 8 vs 9

I am trying the trial SF 9 and have never used an earlier version. I am having some problems with it hanging as I am editing and it seem to leave fantom sound patterns on screen. Should I purchase 8 for now and wait for 9 to mature? Can I get a trial version of 8 somewhere to see if it will do what I need? Would it be cheaper to purchase 8 if it is available?

9 is pretty mature now, and works without hangs for most people.

Your problems sound like some fundamental setup problem, not related to a mere version. Lets try and get your Trial V9 going properly.

I think I am going to upgrade from Audio 8. Once I have a little more experience with SF 9 I will try to pinpoint/clarify the problems and post another question.
