OMG! I just got the alert that there was a new update for SoundForge 9. While downloading, I decided to check out what was fixed and nearly fell out of my chair: - The FLAC file format plug-in has been added to allow you to open and save FLAC files. Well I never thought this was going to happen even after years of pleading with Sony to add this. Now I can edit my 1 terrabytes of FLAC files. Hooray! Thank you Sony. Now if we could cook in DivX/Xvid support into the video products we would really be on a roll. And it would be really swell to get "HD-DVD 3X" support in the products as well! Fat chance! -CB |

What DivX/Xvid support are you lacking? I open and render DivX all the time. |

WRT, Divx. You're right. I missed this. When did this get put in? I just installed VMS Plat 8 and I see if I dig into the custom templates there are Divx profiles. It would've been nice if they had a system template to draw attention to the fact? Anyway, thanks for pointing this out. -CB |

I would be interested to know if markers and regions get saved. The last time I experimented with FLAC, they got removed. This makes FLAC pretty useless for me for archival purposes. |
