Does anyone know if there is a tool in SF Audio 8 that will automatically squeeze groups of sound together without having to manually delete or cut each area of silence. I have an audio that is made up of question/answer/question/ answer/question. I want to remove all the answers but I don't want to listen to the silence between the questions. I am currently manually remove the "white" space which is cumbersom. I would like a tool that allows you to take the groups of sounds and squeeze the all together so there is "1" second (or or a space this wide) of silence between each, Is there such a thing? Thank Mark |

If I read you right, I think Auto Trim / Crop will do what you want. Play around with the Phrase Concatenator presets. You may want to try proceeding with a downward expander / soft noise gate. |

Thanks for the post mpd. Unfortunately Auto Trim is not in SF Audio Studio 8.0. I think you have to have the full blown version of Sound Forge. I tried to find the Phrase concatenator and downward expand with no luck also. I found a noise gate but based on what I am seeing I don't think that will do it with the version in SFAS 8.0. Any other ideas ...am I not understanding? Mark |

You could try making auto-regions- then that willgive you markers to simply make areas with and delete the necessary answers and any corresponding following whitespace. I'm trying to think of a tool in any software that lets you simply do what you want - but running blank atm. |
