Is there any way in AP6d to assign a slider on my MIDI controller (KORG microKontrol) to the Acid track volume sliders so I can mix using the 8 sliders on my MIDI controller? |

You can set up the Generic Surface Control to do this. Peter Message last edited on7/29/2007 8:29:11 PM bypwppch. |

Is it the instructions on page 241 Using the Mackie Control Universal? Is that the generic Surface Control that I should follow? Thanks, Peter! |

No, unless your control device emulates a Mackie Control Universal. In the ACID 6 pdf manual, on page 258 in Appendix B the Generic Controller is covered under the topic: "Configuring a generic MIDI controller" There is even an example. Peter |

Thanks, Peter! I will email you to let you know how it goes! Maybe a feature to add later as more and more MIDI controllers contain a full complement of knobs and sliders?...MIDI Learn or LINK TO CONTROLLER.. FL Studio does it with two touches by just rt clicking the mixer slider, choosing LINK to CONTROLLER and then just moving the slider on the controller - they are instantly linked. No mapping just link and unlink. If those "punks" at Image Line can figure out how to make it that easy, surely a big company like SONY can do the same! :) |

Yes, we know all about how other hosts do it. Personally I think it is one of the worst ways to control a host, that is why I didn't implement it like that. Sorry. I wouldn't call them punks. I wouldn't call us big. Peter |

o Peter....I was kidding! I just meant that for some of us, the one step approach is easy to use. I meant no disrepsect. I'm sorry you apparently took offense |

No offense was taken at all. I understand what you want. I _personally_ don't like it. The external control features of ACID 6 (and Vegas) were intended and designed around the Mackie Control/HUI type surface. I am not saying that we wont do what you want. Maybe we will. Peter |
