Don't know off hand. Don't have any MPC's here.

Have you detemined how to send MIDI data from the MPC to ACID?
Have you determined how to map the pads on the MPC to the pads in Battery?

Assuming that the MPC can send MIDI out, then it just a matter of connecting the MPC to your PC and setting ACID to recieve the MIDI data (MIDI preferences page).

You then assign this MIDI Input to a track that is routed to Battery or directly configure Battery to listen to this port (It tepends on whether you want to always have the MPC trigger Battery or not.)

My guess is that all of this is covered collectively in the manuals for Battery, the MPC, and ACID (I know our MIDI set up is covered.)

Are you saying that you had it working before but forgot how you did it, or that you tried it before and could not get it to work?

I will try to help, but I don't have a MPC, so you will need to answer my questions.

- How is the MPC connect to the PC?
- Can the MPC send MIDI note on/off data from its pads?
- If you can send MIDI data, how is the MIDI input routed in ACID?

Edit:
I went and looked at the MPC500 manual (You don't say anything about what you have or what you are using, so I chose this one.)

You can send MIDI note data from the pads, but it looks like you have to programe this.
You can connect the MIDI out of the MPC to a MIDI input of your computer.

Since you can do these things, then you can set up ACID and Battery to be triggered by the MPC.

Thanks. But, what do you mean by program?

I also have a Faderport that I tried to configure w/ the generic control. But I can't get the fader to work. The only buttons I can assign, and "learn" are stop, fwrd, rew, play and rec.

Thanks A LOT!!!

From the perpective of the MPC, you can assign MIDI note values to each of the pads. Again, I don't have one so you will have to read up on this in the MPC manual.

From the perspective of Battery, each "pad" in Batter can also be assigned to a MIDI note value. Again, something that is covered in detail in the Battery manual.

So, the desired end result is to have a pad on the MPC assigned to a note that is also assigned to the desired "sound" in Battery.

Now, there may be a General MIDI map available for the MPC and Battery. This would permit standard mappings to happen. Again, a feature like this will be covered in the user manuals.

You still have not stated what MPC you have. If you do, perhaps I can find some time to look through the manual for this and help more.

Faderport:
What do you mean by "I can't get the fader to work". Work how?

I do have one of these in front of me and it works as expected. However, the Generic Control will NOT send data back to the Faderport so the fader will not move/follow your on screen settings.

I have a MPC 1000

Faderport:

I went into preferences > external control > and added a new setting via USB.

I checked the learn box. I would then click the parameter I would like the faderport to "teach" persay. When I click on channel for example, then click on one of the channel buttons on the faderport, acid learns. BUT it doesnt work. MUTE and SOLO on the faderport also do not register/learn.

How did you get all the buttons on your faderport to work?
