Anyone know why SF would crash on startup once it looks for installed VST's? I've pretty much gone through the whole uninstall/install process of everything Sony related as well as updating any Microsoft system services. I have SF 7 and it works fine as well as Ableton Live and ProTools. |

Look for the file "vst_grovel.log" in "C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Sony\Sound Forge\9.0\" If it ends with "**** Grovel completed with no critical errors ***", it is likely that the step after VST grovel is causing this. You might just try resetting prefs. Hold down Ctrl+Shift while launching the app, check the box in the little dialog that comes up and click "Yes". J. |
