Subject:Sony Multiband Dynamics Plug problem

This is the first time I've ever used this plug (and probably the last). Using Acid 6.0d - I had it inserted in a stereo track (flute) to tame one frequency peak that happened occasionally. Only using one band in the plug. Everything plays back perfectly. However, when rendering the project to a final mix I get random drop outs, clicks, and some pops. After I removed this plugin, the renders are fine. So what's up with this? I can see how a 3rd party plug might be problematic, but a Sony plug? Not that I'll try using it again because it cost me 3 hours of trouble shooting time, but I'm curious whether anyone else has experienced problems with it?

I just tried it, and can confirm it. After rendering the sound stutters and pops.

Thanks Gobs! I appreciate the quick confirmation. I'll permanently delete that plugin.

Cool that you found the problem.....bug.

BUT, wouldn't a basic eq on a single flute track have solved your problem?? Or at max an eq and a compressor. Multiband on flute seems like overkill.

I didn't want to use eq because the specifc frequency in question is fundamental to the sound of that particular flute (an Indian bamboo bansuri). Using eq to reduce the frequency would "dull" it too much overall. This is actually a perfect situation for a multiband compressor - in this case using only one band. The goal was to "tame" some occasional peaks - not reduce that frequency in the entire performance. At any rate, it worked perfectly until I rendered it. I've got the Waves C4 which I'll experiment with but the Sony plug seemed more straight forward so I used it first - in hindsight a big mistake.
