Hello All, Anyone have any tips for using EZDrummer in Acid Pro 6? Editing the MIDI notes can be very frustrating and require a lot of tracks. For instance; I pull a one bar groove from the EZD Groove Library into the Track list. I customize the groove the way I want it and copy and paste it to build the song. Problem is, any changes I want to make to the groove - a grace note here, an extra hit there - affect every bar in the track. Of course, I can just pull the same groove into several different tracks, but that quickly makes the job of managing all the tracks a huge mess. Or is there some simple, obvious, embarrassingly basic concept that I've overlooked? Thanks for any guidance on this point in particular, or any general experience on the topic. Grey |

The way you are using the 'groove' file is as a looped clip. You are merely painting out the same clip multiple times. In this mode you are editing the same clip. What you need to do is make copies of the clip for each unique version that you want to create. - Select the event on the time line that you want to make unique. - Right click on the event and select "Copy to New Clip". This will make a copy of the clip and set the event on the time line to this clip. When you edit the clip you will be editing a copy and not the other instances of the clip. You can rename the clips in the track's clip pool to provide a unique name/description. Peter |

Ding! Light bulb moment! Peter, you're a life-saver. Well...maybe not life saver, but you have definitely helped to salvage what little sanity and patience I have left. In my own defense, I haven't been able to find that juicy little tidbit of info in the manual even now that I know what I'm looking for. Anyway...many thanks! Grey |
