Can anyone help me with a problem where If i have napster or Itunes open and playing music and i open soundforge (or vegas) it causes the music to either speed up or slow way down. This is a new problem to me so i am at a loss. I am using a Gina24 asio card but it happens even if i change the default device to Sound mapper or Classic Wave. Hope someone can help. |

My initial thoughts would be that somehow Sforge is taking control of your soundcards "master" clock / sample rate and this would create the effect you describe - do you have any option on your card to specify where it gets its clock from? If the differences are big - then it would sound like it's going for a more 'extreme' sample rate (as opposed to 44.1khz/48khz) and could be worth looking at what sample rate Sforge is using alongside with your card. Hope this helps you somehow Ken |

Here is a question: Why would you have a iTune or Napster tune playing in the background while you are working in your audio editor? Seems the solution is a very simple one. |

Maybe for the same reason that at one show where i was working follow spot, i hated the show so bad that i had a walkman in my pocket and was listening to Telemann and Bach all week? ;) |

It also does the weird "speed up" effect if I try to use Windows Media Player while Sound Forge is open. |
