Subject:Can't get AP to talk to keyboard

I've got a CME UF7, and a fine keyboard it is. I specially like the transport controls. Trouble is I can't get Acid to respond to them. I've followed the instructions in the Acid manual (page 258), in "Customizing your controls mappings". I've done that, it's accepted the mappings, I've saved it, but Acid simply doesn't respond to the transport commands. The best I've managed to do is to start Acid recording by the normal Acid controls, then hit the keyboard controllers. This just gives me a line on the track at that moment which says something like: "Controller 118 at 4.4 is 127". But it hasn';t stopped, activated rewound etc The keyboard is obviously sending information (and I can play the softsynths fine), but not the info I need. Any clues please ? |

Have you set up the Generic Surface Control driver? This is how you map transport functions to control ACID. The normal control mappings are used for instrument definitions. Peter |

Well, as I mentioned above I've set up according to the instructions on page 258 for "customizing control mappings" and everything seems to go OK... Is that the same as you're talking about ? Edit: I've only set up a single MIDI out from the keyboard to my PC. I'm assuming that in this case nothing needs to come back in to the keyboard ? Have you enabled external control from the options menu? Peter |

Finally solved it. Seems the generic control was assigning itself to the soundcard (Pulsar-II) midi routing rather than the keyboard. User error no doubt. Thanks for your help Peter, much appreciated. |
