Got some bad news for you: It isn't there anymore. Chapter 17 of the full Sound Forge manual (on looping) doesn't even mention it. The other tools are still there, though. (Some have been refined a bit, like when you use the "insert sample loop" command.) I believe some other new features were introduced too, like snapping the selection to zero-crossings. Iacobus |

I just found this out yesterday...good thing 8 is still installed. Sony, please add this feature back in as it's quite useful to your game developers. |

Again! Please Sony!!!!!! I am still using 8 even though I bought 9 just because of this missing feature. I edit som 1000 sample loops every day. Not having this makes it extremely difficult and time consuming. Please let us know that you are going to re-implement this. |

I liked the Loop Tuner, but more often than not, I found myself adjusting/editing the end points manually rather than by having the Loop Tuner search for zero-crossings (for example). (Actually, I'd rather just have the "ending/beginning" interface the Loop Tuner had; I can do the rest.) Iacobus |

I always manually do it,but once it's basically a seamless loop I would open the tuner to just move the looppoint 1 or 2 samples to find the best spot. It was extremely simple this way. |

The Loop Tuner cannot just be "switched back on" and will not be returning to Forge 9.0. We are evaluating ways to better integrate it's functionality into future versions. J. |

Yeah, this makes a lot of sense to me. Wait for the next version (I just guessing, probably not within the next 6 months), and then you get to pay for what we used to have because it's a lot of work. Is anyone awake out there? Bob Message last edited on7/23/2007 10:00:58 AM bybnjenter. |

So can I get a free upgrade when it comes back, or my money back for purchasing 9? I upgrade each time there is a new version, and have since ver.4. But there was no mention that this was not in ver.9. If there had been I would not have upgraded. Since I have upgraded I have not used 9 at all. I use 8 still. |

You probably have no idea what better ways there are, unless you are a professionaly sample library editor / developer. If you want to see something good, you must see Antares Infinity, but Sound Forge 8 and earlier did some things better and faster than Infinity. Who in the world decided that they way you were doing it was bad? Get out of that Acid Loop tool editing mentality. There are more loops out there than Drum loops! Put it back, or count me out. |

FAO: J Forum Admin: This is a totally unacceptable response. You can't just remove functionality like this and then expect us to pay for it again in a future update. This release has been out for a while now and there are outstanding bugs and functionality that needs to be put back but absolutley no word as to when the next update will be. Please can you post the postal address of your customer services department so we can take the matter further. Thanks. |
