I'm probably doing something wrong, but when I save as AC3, even though the file is created, I get this error: (Link To Error Message Deleted by OP) As far as I know, I'm all registered...Any ideas? Thanks! JRZ Message last edited on6/19/2007 6:58:13 AM byJay Z. |

This is just a bogus error message (which we'll fix). AC3 files are like RealMedia files. They can be saved from Sound Forge, but not opened due to licensing restrictions. J. |

Thank you very much! The files themselves are fine, and work on DVD's, and play with DVD player software, so I suspected it was a bogus error. Thanks &Regards, JRZ |

I for one would be willing to pay some amount of money to have the play capability for .ac3's. I've had forum discussion with Peter on this subject some time ago, don't know if anything has transpired on this. Either Vegas or SF would be nice to have .ac3 play, but I suppose if you are able to work out a licensing arrangement, we would get it on both ? MS Media Player will play them if you have a plugin from one of the DVD software players, but it only uses the stereo mixdown. We really need a reliable way to check out these .ac3's, besides adding in to DVD Arch, burning off disc, going over to DVD player, and see what happened. SF9 is the best SF ever, keep up the great work ! Rgds, Rick Z |

I agree...It would be real nice to be able to open AC3 in SF9 (Vegas also), although I'm sure there are some costs associated with licensing, I would think the bigger hit would be on the encoding side, and not the playback side...JMHO |
