Subject:Crossfade tool in SF9?

Tried to answer to question via searching and came up dry... I'm pondering whether to drop the $99 to upgrade from SF7. Does SF9 have an "auto-magical" crossfade tool to minimize (or eliminate) clicks from the boundary of two audio clips that are butt-spliced together?

Looking for a quick / easy / no-effort way to splice together (for example) a section from Take_2 into Take_1, with no audible pop that can result even if both clips are trimmed at zero-point crossings. Would be nice if this were a simple, one- or two-step process rather than the multi-step process which it seems to be within SF.

Thx, Greg

The mix tool and all effects include user-definable edge fades. You can save a Mix preset also save the current edge fade settings for effects.

I'd suggest trying the demo. Then you can see for yourself if that suits your needs.

Yes. the new mix tool is kinda cool, but gone is the very valuable CROSS FADE through CTRL-F.

Crossfade is something I use a lot of. The problem with Merge tool now is it never remembers the last setting - ie setting up a linear crossfade is forgotten next time you go in - when editing 100's of files, it's a time waste.

Perhaps add a feature into the next release to allow the user to save a default setting, or remember the last setting.

If there's a way to do this then please let us know.

YES, ABSOLUTELY , THE CROSSFADE FUNCTION MUST BE RETURNED TO THE PROGRAM AS IT WAS IN EARLIER VERSIONS!!!!!!!!!!!! And you didn't even need the CTRL-F, just drag and hold down a key. This was the most wonderful, simple tool before and now we have a mess of dialogue boxes that don't remember anything. An edit takes 4 steps instead of just one quick drag and drop. Please return this function in an update soon!
