Greetings, In SF8 the meters are active when auditioning from the open dialog. In SF9 this function is not active. Is there a way to get this to work? I looked around but failed to find a way, sorry if I missed something. Thanks Eric |

If you open a file first, they'll work. I'll look into it, but the number of meters won't change if the previewed file has more channels in it or anything. The hardware meters will work, regardless. J. |

Hey, thanks for the reply. There are various stages to my workflow and one of them is to put the open dialog in auto play mode and quickly surf through the folder spot checking at random. I would really like to have the meters active for this. SF 8 functions nicely in this manner. Yes the meters are active once I open the file but this changes the speed of work. Any help is appreciated. Eric |

Again, the Hardware Meters (available in the View menu) will always show what is going out to the hardware, preview or not. I will look at fixing the channel meters for he next update. J. |

A quick update to anyone wondering: today I switched the meters in SF9 to VU/PPM only view and this meter view functioned from the open dialog. When I reverted back to the peak meter view, the meters continued to function from the open dialog. The only other thing I had changed was to create a custom file type (ulaw) in the open dialog and relaunch SF. I don't see why this would change the meter function but I will include it just to be complete. Eric |
