How do I convert my MPEG2 projects to AC-3 to use in
DVDA?

or what do you mean by convert ?

AC-3 is the default DVD-A audio format, so all audio coming into the project will be converted to AC-3. The Optimize box tells you that.

not always.. (as in being the default)

DVDA asupports all mandatory audio formats for DVD delivery be it PCM or AC3, this is set within the project properties or when using the wizard to initialise a project
