I am working on an increasingly complicated project that will call for me to cross fade between groups of loops on laptop, while at the same time playing live guitar.

I have assigned each group of loops to its own virtual mixer. Would like to cross fade between them, by hitting one key -- or better yet, one foot pedal.

Any ideas, please?

There is no way to do this with one key or foot pedal. You'll have to add a volume envelope to the a common bus and fade them manually.
