Trying to clean up the audio on some MPG files shot on a Sony Handycam. SF9 opens the files, but the audio is missing. In the file properties, under "Audio Format" it says "no audio". The video is Mpeg 2. I don't know if the handycam shoots in an unsupported audio file format or not. I can't find anything in the SF9 manual about supported file types. Any ideas?

I suspect something is amiss with MPGs in V 9. I saved a wav file twice as an mp3 and both times got an hour long file of white noise. The third time I tried it, the audio was there. Seems like a bug to me. I never had a similar problem in earlier versions.

Nice. I tried opening one of them up in SF8 only to have an advertizement pop up asking me to buy a plugin. I went back to using SF8 because of yet another problem with SF9. What a waste of money.

Is the audio in AC3 format? I don't believe SoundForge can read AC3.

That is because only with SF9 we have the mpeg-plugin for free:-). I always thought of buying it, but now I'm glad I waited, as it is here now. My mpegs made with a simply old sony cybershot show no audio too, but strangely enough I can HEAR the audio...?????

I can't hear (or see) audio in an 'interleaved MPEG1" file that Quicktime plays find. Same in Vegas 7 - I have a query in that forum.
