Subject:WHERE IS THE DRAG AND DROP CROSSFADE?

I jumped from version 7 to 9, but have used SF since 3. Where is the so easy to use drag with control key crossfade? This was fast, foolproof and made flawless edits. Now it seems to be mix/replace only with drop down boxes and a mind numbing complication to making the easiest edits. WHAT HAPPENED? Surely this hasn't just vanished!

ALSO - pre and post fade on voiceover mixes. Where did this go? This seems to have vanished. Projects that were so intuitive on versions 3 to 7 are taking me forever on 9. So far I am bitterly sorry I upgraded! HELP!

I wonder the same thing. They say that newer isn't always better and that is definitely the case with this version, IMHO.

I also have been on SF since almost the beginning, for one reaon: It was absolutely the simplest program out there to record Voiceovers, make simple edits, and save in a variety of formats.

With every new version, they seem to lose a terrific feature - 5.0/6.0's "Send" was a miraculous keystroke saver... now gone.

Don't they realize that the minute SF is as complicated to use as ProTools, we'll just buy THAT?

I made the mistake of uninstalling my V6, and I'm worried now about getting things messed up by going back to the earlier version. All my studio computers have V7 and no way am I buying more copies of 9 for them until I get a useful solution from the SF developers. I work primarily in classical / jazz music - I could get flawless easy edits so well in the earlier versions, which is why I installed it on all my computers. This so-called upgrade has just frustrated me beyond belief.
