Subject:Any way to get MIDI routed stuff to render?

I have been using GURU in conjuntion with Battery2 lately. I just use GURU for the sequencing, then I route the MIDI in Acid such that Battery MIDI input is connected to Guru and it plays just fine. It can be done by either assigning the Battery VSTi input to Guru, or by creating a MIDI track and doing the assignment there.

But, the problem is that is doesn't seem to want to render. Does anybody know if this is possible, or if it can be done. The currrent workaround is to either drag the MIDI pattern from GURU to the Acid timeline, or route back through my soundcard and record it in realtime.

TIA

I've never been able to get my soundcard's soundfonts to render.

So I solo them, hit play, and record from Soundforge. Klugey.

Either we're both missing something, or else, no you can't.

Sad though - even BIAB's crappy little sequencer app (name blotted from my memory due to extreme interface trauma) rendered my sound fonts.

I can see why Acid wouldn't render your soundfonts, because the sounds are not actually in the Acid project. So, how could it?

What I'm talking about is getting the MIDI routing between VSTis (within Acid) accounted for in rendering.

What is on your ACID timeline?

What is on your ACID timeline?

several audio (one shot) tracks only.

If I set up a MIDI track to route Guru to Battery, there is nothing on the track itself.

If you don't have any events on the timeline for that particular track then I believe that's the problem.

The thing is that Guru does not require a track...it is a sequencer in itself. So any internal sounds in Guru render when rendering the project, but it appears the MIDI out of Guru can only be realized in realtime.

It would be great if MIDI connections between VSTis within Acid would render with the project. ...the same way MIDI data on the timeline routed to a VST gets rendered. (I do realize Guru is a special case, but why not?)

I can see this being the case during rendering. MIDI input is disabled during rendering. This case was just not part of the scenerios we implemented for.

I am looking at this. I don't believe there is a work around.

It is unlikely this will be address for an update.
