Confused... I installed & registered SF-9 and the Izotope bungle, however the GUI looks nothing like the sony ad pix, has very limited controls AND the 3 Izotope plug-ins (Limiter, EQ & Reverb) ARE available in my other programs that support DX plugs.????
Any help is appreciated on this as I'm busy on a post project deadline and have little time for research.
Example: limiter screenshot

That's the way the limiter looks in my SF. You must have got the 9 update when it was first announced, that's why the plugs work in other hosts. A little later, iZotope figured out that they had let a version of the plugs out that would work in other hosts, and theyy changed the program to stop it-crappy in my opinion. A lot of folks on the Sonar forum raising hell about that. If you update SF now, the plugs will stop working in other hosts.

I'd like to clarify this - is the issue about the functionality within the SF iZotope plug-ins, or the fact that they are also available in other SCS apps like Vegas and Acid?

- since the version we purchased was an add-on to Sound Forge 9, I would have no expectation that the plug-ins would work in outside apps apart from Sony's - or is that not the issue?

The Izotope plug-ins should only be visible in Sound Forge 9.0 and in future updates or versions of Sound Forge, ACID, and Vegas. That is the agreed upon behavior spelled out in our bundling arrangement with Izotope.

An earlier version of the Izotope installer mistakenly exposed the plug-ins to other hosts. This installer is no longer available.

I don't mind at all having the Izotope plugs available in other apps. This "Izotope powered" version works totally different from the OEM Izotope plugs which I've used in other studios. The graphical design of this new version gives little user feedback, at least on the limiter, specifically, gain reduction & in/out levels. I did not upgrade to SF-9 for the "Izotope powered" plugs anyway. I was just curious as to why none of the three Izotope powered" plugs looks anything like what is pictured in the SONY ads (Deceptive advertising?) or perhaps I missed something.

Ads on this website or elsewhere? These look accurate to me...

It's the Multi-band Compressor. In the ads in Mix, EM, ect.
Apparently I didn't think I had the Multi-band comp which is pictured. But I have found it. DUH!
Thanks and sorry for any confusion or otherwise.

Hi J. I don't think the advertising has been misleading. But I'd just like to say that the SF9 upgrade would be much more attractive (for me anyway) if the Izotope plugin were available to other apps. With the current arrangement, I think I'll just wait for SF10 and see what that brings.

That was my mistake not seeing the (ad pictured) multi-band comp in my plug-ins, so the ads are not misleading. I apologize to SMS and anyone else who may have been offended by my error.
