Seems if you got your SF9 upgrade early, you got the version of the plugs that work in any host, but if you upgrade next time, the use of the plugs in other hosts will be gone. It's an idea started on the Sonar forum, and it's gaining momentum. Everybody makes money!

Given that Sound Forge already has plug-ins that offer exactly the same functions, I'm somewhat surprised that Sony spent the money to include them. I suppose you could rationalize that the iZotope plug-ins have better audio quality than the Sound Forge equivalents, but I wonder.

I still use it more than the Sony-included version because it's a nice tightly integrated package...you can move from one tool to the next (and there are more options and tools to play with). Yes, less is more, but I use Ozone 3 with SF9 >and< Sonar...heck, I use some of the Sonar plug-ins (guitar amps are fun) in SF. The weird thing is...I like the LOOK of the Sony/Izotope multi-band compressor WAY more than the Ozone one. If someone would just get their head around integrating EVERYTHING... ps: presets are easier in Ozone 3 too. If/when Ozone 4 comes out...I'm all over it.
