How do you register the Izotope plug-ins when their registration page has the challenge code selection inactive. The selection is just plain text not a link. The serial numbers selection works but that's not for these plug-ins. Any suggestions?

Thank you,
Doug

Doug,

Sorry, but I'm not following exactly what you are seeing. Are you invoking Izotope's authenication from within their plug-ins? (which is the easy way to do it)

Thanks,
Dave

It's confusing... I was able to register the Izotope plugs, but it took a while... I accomplished it after many tries, by accident for sure.

I was having the same annoying problem.
My work computer is not internet connected, so here's what I have been doing:

Enter serial number and click "Offline Authorization"

Obtain challenge code - write this down.

Go to Izotope's site

Log in My Account > Authorize Software, as instructed to do

There is no choice to select "challenge / response"

This is following to the letter the instructions from the Plug-in.

NOW, if I go my own way and instead of clicking Authorize Software, I click "Serial Number", I put in my Serial number and this time get a challenge response screen, which eventually leads to success.

Incidentally, success comes by twice having to write down and then type in long 25 digit numbers, which it's so easy to make a mistake with - what a pain - why can't they be like Sony and allow us to save/copy paste.

They obviously spend a lot of time on their plug-in functionality and interface - they should also pay attention to authorisation processes.

Rant almost over - they also limit you to one computer - as this is a plug-in for SF9, why can't they follow Sony's practice of allowing Desktop & Laptop use?

rant over.

WTF?! One computer? You can't be serious! One of THE premier high points of Sound Forge/Sony apps has been the ability to use the software on more than one system. I regularly move projects from my studio to my home system and back and also on my laptop when traveling. Because of the other enhancements in SF9 this isn't a total deal breaker for me but it sure is cheesy to not make this absolutely clear in the marketing hype. IMO, this is the kind of thing that encourages people to use cracks.

That makes them completely useless to me as I am constantly travelling to record and use my laptop, but when I get home I use only my desktop. This makes me not want to upgrade. If I were Sony I would change that to 2 computers immediatly!

Good News folks!

Although at the end of my first registration there was a message saying additional licences were needed for more than one computer, I just went ahead and tried with my laptop and it was accepted ok.

Peter

edit - Just after I registered, a friend who I had recently recorded rang asking me to email an mp3 version, to enter a song contest. Just for the hell of it I first tried adding iZotope compression (Final Compresion preset) and wow did it add some nice punch!

Thank you Peter,

You spotted the problem. One has enter the serial number on Izotope's page. Their instructions say to enter the challenge code, they never mention having to reenter the serial number. Thank you for pointing that out.

I try to follow instructions literally. In this case that literal reading tripped me up. Izotope's instruction weren't complete.

Thanks for the help.
