Subject:SF9: I'm completely lost.

Maybe I'm just stupid but I cannot figure out how to accomplish seemingly simple tasks in SF9 nor can I do the same things I did in SF8. How do I simply open a two channel BWF file and have control over the left and right (ch 1, ch 2) channels? I do not have "merge l/r to stereo selected, not that it makes a difference as I've tried it both ways. I end up with a two waveform file that will no allow me to select one channel no matter what I do when I open it. Further more there are times when I go back to the open file selection and find the file folder will not show any files for very long periods of time. I don't know about anyone else but this sucker is buggy with my Vista install to the point that I can't even explain what is happening. SF 8 works perfectely for me under Vista and I'm thankful I did not uninstall it.

To select a channel in version 9 click the channel header at the left edge of the screen.

... Also, what I've experiencesd is that when you try to drag a selection of one wave file onto the other it would always loose the selection while you start draggin,

i guess the goal in sf9 is to ctrl+drag is to overwrite , and alt+drag is to mix , right ?

but sometimes it still works like the old sf's, but not always, very strange...

When dragging a selection for mix/paste/replace, try dragging up or down a little first. This is what Sound Forge uses as a clue to differentiate between dragging the selection elsewhere or simply making a new selection.

Dragging with no modifiers implies Mix. Ctrl+Drag implies Paste-Insert or Paste-Replace, depending on the destination location and selection. Alt+drag is no longer used.
