Subject:Anybody using SF9.0 yet?(questions)

Hey there. I am really intrigued by SF9.0 as I think others are. Anyhow, I am REALLY curious as to the bundled plugs, primarily iZotope and the Sony NR.

Can anybody confirm if these ARE indeed the full versions or are these modified? I know that the release news states that it is the full NR,but when I purchased SF8 the release stated that it included NR and I assumed that it was the full version and it turned out to be a stripped down version.

Also, what about the iZotope plug...full or modified?

Thanks,luces.

well.. I wish there was also a special offer for sound forge studio 8 in leage of $199 euro or something :)

PS: couldn't resist buying it, for several reasons.. I wanted to get rid of the limited SF studio 8 which wasn't really a priority for update fixes to several components:

I'm glad I bought it now for this special price.

ANyway, is it normally that it's set as cd architect 5.2 in my software page of my account .? It's normal in the order mail I got and I got a serial there, but it's not in my "upgrade" part of the account.

Anyway, first thoughts: It's cool to have the full functionality of all the plugins and what I especially like is the way you can pre-arrange your fade curves and insert amounts of effects when you are sound designing stuff.

You can for example choose where the amount of VST effect fades in without it suddenly appearing when you are having a partial selection of a file, this is a nice feature..

I've got a very small remark though. It seems that when you use internal effects like the internal wave mixer, pitch shifter , EQ etc, it doesn't remember the settings the next time after you executed the effect on the wave file. This was handy in previous versions of sf.

I'm gonna play a bit further tonight..

CosmicD: i haven't noticed that particular problem with the settings not being remembered. I've probably re-run effects several hundred times in SF9 now and it always remembers the previous settings, at least within the same editing session.

With equalizer it seems to work yes, and with the pitch sifter, but try this;

open a wave file and then another (in sepparate window)

drag the one on the other so you get the mixer setting. the destination will be set to -Inf, and ctrl+click to set it to 0 db and then mix..

if you do that again, the destination meter would be set to -Inf again...

Ah, the Mix/Replace dialog. I'll enter this as a bug and check it out.

thx,

I'd like to revive this topic to report another thing sf9 forgets,

it's the crossfade setting in the pitch effects window, they would always reset to 10ms
