Subject:Save Edited MIDI

Ok, I downloaded a bunch of MIDI files from the net. Once I've edited them in the List Editor (taking out guitar parts or whatever) and changing tempo in ACID, how do I save my changes? When I play the file in windows media, my edits aren't there.

Some of what you want to do - change the tempo - cannot be done from the Clip editors.

You can save the note/cc changes you made in the clip editors by clicking the Save button in the track's Clip Pool.

Tempo is not a property of the clip. It is a property of the ACID project. Only the main time line is affected by tempo.

You can only export the tempo by exporting the project as a Standard MIDI File. This is done on the File|Export MIDI.... menu.

If you really just want to remove tracks, then you should import the MIDI file as a project in ACID 6. Delete the tracks, edit the tempo as desired, then use File | Export MIDI.

You should also edit any CC msgs from the main track and the envelopes or main track controls. If you edit things in the Piano Roll, then you need to import these changes back to the main time line by right clicking on the event and selecting the "Create Envelopes from Clip..." menu option.

The Render As and export are greyed out (Disabled) I do have the fully functioning version of ACID Music Studio.

Oh, you are using ACID Music Studio. This is very different.

From the Track Properties view, you should click either the Save or Save As button once you have made your edits.

ACID Music Studio does not support exporting your project as a MIDI File.
