Clue: In the SMS NAB promotion "Powering your Creativity" banner graphic, the SF box reads, Sound Forge 9... or is it a misprint... vaporware or a buggy unstable version of 8. |

I'd think it's a definite clue. Putting it all together, Sony usually launches products at Cebit (or whtaever it's called in Hannover), and Sound Forge 9 is listed as Vista compliant on the microsoft site (complete with build number). My, albeit hopeful, guess is that we'll see SF9 launched during NAB in Vegas (which I'm already hoping to go to, but have schedule conflicts :-( I just hope it comes out soon. I've got a new quad-core system running vista, and CS2 is a rocket on it, Vegas is good and stable...but some heavy processing for all the audio I'm handing would be a huge bonus (and I still can't stand the Audition interface). |

And also NR 2was bundled with SF6 Have I been taken for ride? I wonder if I will qualify for a free SF9 upgrade because of it!!!! ???? |

Since it's a training dvd I wouldn't be suprised if it has only demo/trial versions of all that software. Look at the price, $85. I don't think Sony is going to sell all that at what amounts to cheaper than their typical upgrade price. Dave |

NR2 was only bundled with SF6 for a very short upgrade period, and only to qualified upgraders. It wasn't a general offering. So don't feel too bad about having missed it. |

No sign of a spectrum editor... Metering looks to be improved; hope it's good enough. Hope it will be at last possible to view more than one plug-in at a time... |

>What is this... >Polyphonic BWF support with timecode Polyphonic BWF are multichannel Broadcast Wave Files with timecode stamps in the metadata. It's the defacto standard recording format for all portable non-linear location recorders in the film and video world. Recorders made by Sound Devices, HHB, Zaxcom, Tascam, Fostex, etc. Vegas 7 currently supports IMPORT only of Poly BWF files with timecode. What I would like is the ability to import them with timecode intact and also the ability to SAVE, EXPORT, or RENDER BWF files with the original metadata intact. Just took a prefunctory look at Wavelabs website and although they do mention support of BWF, they don't make any mention of SMPTE timecode. I'll be at NAB in a few weeks and will hopefully see where things are going. Message last edited on4/2/2007 9:05:37 AM bytomaras. |

Well, if they offer a nice entry level app like sound forge studio 8 that really has all i need, it's good, I don't need all the extra plugins and multitrack, i'll do all that in cubase + my bought plugins. except maybe the noise reduction thingy they had in sf studio 8 (or improved version).. i've reestorated some small things with that and it was doable as a plugin |
