I'm trying to increase the tempo of some music. I go to Special, Edit Tempo, and increase the tempo number, but the music keeps playing at the same speed. What do I need to do to play the music faster without changing the sound or pitch?

Try Process / Time Stretch instead.

Thanks, that worked. I still don't understand why the tempo edit in the special menu doesn't work also.

Joe,

The Edit Tempo function doesn't change your audio data. Instead it is a way for you to both determine the tempo of your music file and also a way to tell Sound Forge the tempo of your music so that the Time Ruler will match up to your data. Once that is done, you can use other functions that rely on this such as Auto Region.
