I have the full suite of Sony apps on my DAW. All are working perfectly except AcidPro 6 which has suddenly developed a weird crash bug.

Whenever I resize the app's main window, or go to move a floating panel, it instantly crashes. This only happens in Acid. Vegas, SF & DVDA are all good.

I did an entire album on this same machine, (version 6.0a), same drivers etc, just a few months ago and had it working very hard with dozens of long tracks with no crashes at all. But now...

The strange thing is that so long as I don;t move ANY window (and that includes non-Acid windows) then Acid will run perfectly. But a single windows resize or move on ANY app, and *bang* instant crash.

I can re-align the internal boundaries of elements within the Acid window, and I can also "maximise" Acid across both screens OK, it's always just the resize...

What I tried:
Updated AcidPro to 6D build 363
Reinstalled the monitor drivers to the latest (I;m running dual monitors with a Matrox 550)
Installed the latest Matrox driver
Disabled all new vsts & effects

In the error report I always get this:

acid offset 4ec95846

I have no idea whether that's significant.

I've never come across such a strange effect - and such a frustrating Acid problem.

Please, any ideas ?

Well, I should have tried this in the first place, but just in case someone else has this problem, the solution is pathetically obvious:

Uninstall and reinstall AcidPro.

I've never had to do this with a Sony (or Sonic Foundry) app before, so that's my excuse *blush*

Sounds like something corrupted your previous install. It's certainly not an issue that's exclusive to Madison Media's apps, that's for sure.

Glad to hear you got it cleared up. :)
