Hi, I have some 6/8 loops. The loops are set to 6 beats in the loop properties. I set my ACID project to 6/8. When I put in a one-measure loop, and roll it out it takes up two measure. It should only take up one since it's 6 beats, right? Thanks, Frank |

Acid assumes a quarter-note as your unit of "beat" - which is confusing since if you are working in 6/8 it is reasonable to expect the unit of beat to be an eighth-note. In order to get a one measure 6/8 loop to stretch appropriately, you need to give your beats in quarter-notes. In this case, you need to specify "3" as the number of beats. A few years back, I put in a request to allow beat units other than quarter notes. This is particularly needed for odd time rhythms like 7/8. Did anything ever come of this? While I am on the subject, in SF (all versions), the beat grid overlay is always 4/4, even if you are working in a different time signature. I think I reported this a long time ago, but it has persisted. |

(Some of the tools in Sound Forge are merely for reference in this regard.) Would be nice to set it yourself just for reference's sake though. I requested a similar thing for Sound Forge as you did for ACID; its selection grid lines tool only allows divisions of four (beats). Would be nice to be able to work with, say, triplets. Yes! Put my vote in for customizable grid lines in Sound Forge! |
