??? Even when I tried to add software to my account it goes from SndFrg4.5 to 6.0! It skips 5.0!! Figured out another way to register it here but What's the deal? Why is SoundForge 5.0 so forsaken around here? |

Because it is 3 versions old ? Are you trying to find an update or register it ? Maybe there were no updates - IIRC SF6 came along pretty quickly ... geoff |

I finally discovered I could register it from my account profile instead of doing it the way the disc instructed. Hmmm-maybe there was no updates- it seemed odd because they had updates for my Acid Pro2.0 which is even older! That and it is flat out skipped over in the drop down menu- I can see there being no updates but why is it not listed in the drop down menu of the "software purchased" field? especially when older and newer versions are listed-odd! Contact Customer Service. The Sound Forge 5 updates were withdrawn for a particular reason but Customer Service sorted things out for one of my colleagues. |

**Contact Customer Service. The Sound Forge 5 updates were withdrawn for a particular reason but Customer Service sorted things out for one of my colleagues.** Same experience for me, they sorted it beautifully and I am now a happy camper on my new OS with a free intermediate upgrade courtesy of Sony. The reason that their post-Sonic Foundry Customer Service is so good is the early Madison-era philosophy of "document, document, document." Sony has been wise to recognize this and use it too their advantage in support of the SF legacy projects, and hopefully their own. Just my 2c. I too was looking for an update to SF5 and customer service gave me a free upgrade to SF7 . . . but I haven't installed it on my new computer yet. Anyone know if SF7 will install on Vista? Any tips? Also, when I bought SF5, it came with an mp3 plug-in (2.0). Does SF7 have an mp3 plugin? Thanks. MG |

Starting with a late release of 4.5 (4.5F, maybe, but my memory is getting a bit fuzzy), all releases of Sound Forge have included the MP3 right in the installation. I started out with 4.5B, and had to pay $20 for the MP3 plugin. I later bought a copy for a friend and MP3 was included in the package for now extra cost. |
