We are looking at it, but have not been able to reproduce any problems with ACID 6.0d and Reason 3. Could you tell me the version number of the rewire.dll located in your windows\system32 directory? Peter PS:Did you really think it was important to bump every thread on this topic in this forum? |

ozzborn... Dude my usage of acid as a host with reason rewired to it is very minimal. I'll have it open with like a nn19 with a orchestral sample loaded up and maybe something else going on as well. I LOVE the "strings" refill collection.I'm using acid 6.0d with the latest version of reason with the latest version of rewire for windows. If you want start another thread and walk me through some problems you are having and I'll see If I can repro. What problems were you having that I should look at? Ed. BTW...I'm on a tight schedule here in nyc so I'll get back to as soon as I can. |

What I personally do... Control Panel...Add/Remove Programs... 1)Uninstall acid. 2)Uninstall "microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine(SONY_MEDIAMGR) 3)Uninstall Reason 4)Go to Program Files...Sony setup...delete acid pro 6 folder. 5)Reboot. At this point I would go to windows update and update my computer if needed then reboot again. Then install acid 6.0d then reason 3.04. Now I'm not sure if you have to install the windows rewire 1.7 update or if it comes already with 3.04. Go to the propellerhead forums and ask. I think I had already had it installed when I updated to 3.04. After you install both apps. reboot. Not sure if it's necessary but I just do it cause I've never read anywhere not to. Authorize reason...authorize acid...let her rip. HTH. Ed. Message last edited on2/11/2007 10:40:11 AM bySHTUNOT. |

ACID only installs a single copy of the Propellerheads rewire.dll. This is installed to the correct location as defined by the Propellerheads and ONLY if the version ACID is installing is NEWER than the currently installed version. The acid6rewire.dll is a component of ACID, not Propellerheads. It is installed in the Sony ACID 6 install directory and is REQUIRED by ACID. It uses the Propellerheads rewire.dll. The rewire.dll located in the Sony Setup is part of the install package that is expanded when you download ACID installer from our web site. Note that this is the reason that we called directory "setup" and not "runtime" or "exectuable". So, unless you have specifically told Windows to search this directory when exectuting ANY AND ALL applications - which would both difficult and stupid - then the version installed in the CORRECT location defined by Propellerheads will be the ONLY version dynamically linked to when ACID - or any ReWire capable application - is running. To answer your earlier question: The most that you have to do is to uninstall ACID 6, delete the set up directory, the reinstall ACID 6. I cannot comment on Reason or the types of install/uninstall routine it requires. You will have to contact the Propellerheads regarding what they recommend. Peter |
