Subject:ACID Pro 6.0d midi latency (playback)

When playing back midi data from Acid, my sampler & keyboards are a few ticks behind & thus out of sync with the samples/loops in Acid. How can I adjust/set Acid to "pause" slightly at the beginning of playback to compensate for the delay?

In other words, when I press the "play" button in Acid and it begins moving forward & sending out midi data, my hardware needs a few ticks of time to begin, due to a slight delay. How can I set Acid to delay a few ticks upon hitting "play". Should I simply move my data & loops forward a hair? What is the best solution?

There is no mechanism to delay output like this.

What MIDI hardware are you using that requires this delay?

Thanks for the reply, Peter.

I am using an old Yamaha seq/sampler (su-700) and some new Novation synths. When I hit play in Acid, the yamaha device runs a few ticks behind; enough to notice a slight beat off-set. If I bounce the audio back into ACID as a .wav (via record) the audio is a few ticks behind. Using a simple midisport 2x2 for my midi; short 2 ft. midi cables.

I can dump all the sequencer midi data into Acid to avoid this delay; but other songs require complex effects from the sampler and so I will have to figure out how to avoid the delay. Adding 4 extra (empty) beats at the beginning of the acid project might help. Thanks again for the response. If you are in WI stay warm.
