I am a novice who is having trouble adding drum beats to my project via MIDI. I have ACID Music Studio 6.0. I am using a Yamaha DD 55c drum machine and the Yamaha UX16 USB-MIDI interface cable/device. I click the record button in Studio and the system records the drum beats in graphic form -- but no sound seems to be recorded in my project. (However, when I do this, the sound has been recorded and plays fine in windows media player.) My guess is that I am not performing some very basic part of the procedure -- any thoughts? |

Mmm...are you trying to record what your Yamaha drum machine actually produces? If so, you'll have to either route the MIDI track back to the drum machine OR record digital audio from the drum machine. (I only see a headphone jack on the drum machine, so you'd have to use that.) Iacobus |

Lacobus: Thank you for the help!! In answer to your question, I am trying to record what the Yamaha machine produces. I did what you suggested and I recorded through the headphohe jack -- it worked perfectly and sounds great. Thanks again for the help!! Panda Lo over and out |
