Subject:firewire recording in Acid Pro

I have an Alesis MutliMix 16 which is connected to my Computer via Firewire. Acid pro sort of recognizes the audio. The level meters move when I tap the mic, but when I hit the record button nothing is recorded. The Wave line stays in a completely straight line. Yet the level meters continue to move.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Peter

Nice mixer. I'm kinda jealous. (I need something with S/PDIF though.)

Do you have the right input selected for recording?

How far do the meters go without any sound coming in? -80 dB? That's about normal whether something's connected or not when we're talking about analog audio.

I did NOT have them set to the right inputs. At least not in mono. Now I have it working, sort of. I can't the stereo channels to work yet. But I will keep trying
The mixer seems pretty good so far. However, I can't figure out how to turn the effects off and use my own outboard gear yet.
