HI I have been a sony user for a few years now and just encountered a new prob, or maybe an old one, anyway couldent find it in the help section so I am hoping you can help, I'm sure its a simple fix, anyway when I record an audio track, say a guitar or a Vox, it records fine for about 3 minutes then I notice it erasing the track at the beginning a red line appears and the audio starts to disappear like the record is looping, but I checked and I don't have a section looped as far as I no. anyone else have this prob, anyway I am sure I have over looked something simple so please and thank you in advance for the help, Peace |

What you are seeing is the real-time peak generation buffer size limit. When we record audio, we generate peaks on the fly. The peak buffer has a fixed size. When it gets filled up, it starts to wrap around so that you can see the new portion being recorded. So, as recording proceeds along and you hit this buffer limit, the earlier portion of the time line will show a red line. The audio has been recorded, it is just that the real-time peak buffer has been filled. When you stop recording, the engine will then generate peaks for the entire length of the recording and you will see all of the peaks for the recorded audio. Peter |
