I'm using Sound Forge XP Studio 5.0 to record my songs, using two tracks - guitar and voice. THe output volume on these recordings is horrendous. I have to jack up the volume on any CD player to hear the songs I've recorded. Anybody know how to fix this????????? |

Record louder? Or normalize the volume up, but really the best bet is to get a good level from the get-go. |

Try and set your audio so that your guitar is somewhere between yellow, while just scrapping the red. You don't want it in the red on a constant basis. Whatever your using to record through (V-Amp2, Amp, Processor), make sure that is giving enough punch to the meters, and than adjust your soundcard volumes as needed. You want to grab a bright and punchy signal, without clipping on your meters. It's all trial and error. Don't worry, took me weeks to get my tone down. |
