Subject:Editing midi clip in Acid Pro 6.0d

By viewing clip properties on a midi track, you can get the old Acid 5 midi edit interface. I used this in list view to move some events, but when the file plays back, it still plays the events at the time I recorded them, rather than where I moved them to. I tried swapping the file for the clip, and saving as a new file and adding that, no luck. But viewing the clip properties still shows the changes I made, even after closing Acid & reopening. And plays them correctly inside the properties window, just not in the project.

So am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug? I vote bug...

I am not seeing this behavior. Are you are editing the correct clip? (there can be multiple). Any change I make in the Piano Roll Editor from the Clip properties shows up immediately on the timeline for me once I close it. I'm using ACID Pro 6.0d.

I'm making these changes in the list editor, not the piano roll editor. There is only one clip. Or was, until I started troubleshooting.

Hmm... I'm still not seeing it. I've changed the time, duration, note value, in the List Editor and it shows up on the timeline just fine. This is very strange or maybe my test case is too simple.

A couple of details - (1) I was moving and thinning controller events, (2) I was using midi channel 2.

These were B4 drawbar settings that needed to happen earlier than I had recorded them. I entered them using a CME UF-5 in drawbar mode. For each controller (12 through 20? I think?) I deleted all events except the final one, then changed the time to 1.1.0.0.

If the events just didn't happen, I'd suspect that they needed to be moved to beat 2 or so. But the events happened as I first recorded them, even though I had deleted or moved all those events. I could see the drawbars moving on the B4.

Thanks for looking at this.

Do you have hidden CC envelopes at the track-level (as opposed to the controller events you are editing at the clip-level)?

SonyPCH pointed me in the right direction - he said I have to convert (right word?) my CC events to envelopes.

Anyhow, these were just recorded CC moves, and the OPT interface lets me edit them, and even plays them back correctly, as edited, from inside the editor. But plays the old pre-edited CC events from the project. So I've got an editor telling me it made my changes, and a playback/rendering function that ignores them. Y'all need to fix this.
