Subject:How to cut down on tracks?

Vocals, vocals, vocals.

I wind up with a L O T of tracks doing vocals. If I want to select 10 tracks, or whatever, can I render just those down to one new one? Is there an easy way to combine tracks and have it easily come back into the project?

Thanks,

Rick

Yes!

Simply solo the tracks you want to keep, and the mute the ones you dont.
Once you have the tracks you want rendered. Theres an option above called: "Render to New Track." Select this, and all your solo tracks will be combined into one track.

NOTE:

When the track has been rendered, MAKE SURE you mute everything, BUT, the newly rendered file. You want to be able to hear your new file, and not have the other tracks playing and confusing you at the same time.

You might also want to place these tracks in a folder. Then you can mute and solo them with one click. So the workflow would be:

1. Solo the folder with the vocal tracks
2. Press Ctrl+M to Render to New Track
3. Mute the folder with the vocal tracks

This makes it a lot easier. You can use this technique to easily freeze MIDI tracks as well.

Thanks peeps.

I figure I'll still need to import the combined track back into ACID somehow?

:-)

No. Render to New Track places the file on a new track after the render. You don't have to do anything but select the correct render template for the new track.
