I recenctly received Acid Music Studio 6.0b version. I am creating some music rythems and melodies so I can play leads to them with my guitar. I would like to know how can I lay down my guitar riffs or leads into the Acid tracks that I had made with the preset loops? I have not been able to find any instructions to do this, even though Music Studio states that it can be done. I have a Creative Labs Extreme Music sound card. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks for any help you can provide me. |

> I have not been able to find any instructions to do this, even though Music Studio states that it can be done. Try: Help > Contents and Index (F1) > Using ACID Software > Recording > Overview > Record Audio You might also want to purchase Instant ACID. It has an entire chapter on audio recording. Even though it was written for ACID Pro 5.0 many of those features are in ACID Music Studio 6.0 and the recording is the same. In short, plug your guitar into your sound card, press the red record button in ACID, make sure Audio is set as the record option, make sure the correct input of your sound card is set as the Record device, and press Record. You should also make sure you're using the ASIO device drivers for your sound card. It's all explained in help file and the book. As for how you plug your guitar into your sound card, if it doesn't have instrument inputs I would seriously consider dumping it and getting a pro sounds card. (Creative game cards are notorious for recording bad audio regardless of what hype Creative has on their web site) M-Audio makes some nice USB audio devices that have a guitar input and XLR mic input (i.e., the Fast Track and Fast Track Pro). They are especially made for guitar players. Line6 also has audio interfaces for guitar players. ~jr Message last edited on1/17/2007 4:20:18 AM byJohnnyRoy. |

Thank you very much, JR, got it to work. I first used the Creative Labs mixing board for my guitar, didn't like it, too muddy. Then I used a small amp, made too much distortion and hiss. Then I used my multi effects pedal from Boss and it worked like a charm. I got the sound I wanted from my Fender Strat. Laid down a few tracks of guitar with Acid's bass and drum lines and came up with a cool riff. I'm going to try out my Gibson Les Paul and Takamine accoustic later. Again, thank you for your help. Now, I'm going to have to learn how the program better. Would like to how to chop well for cool riffs. |
