I've been playing a selection of my thing on different systems - sounds fine on headphones/ipod but on certain speakers the VO(Male) is notably silbilent in a way which makes me wonder whether it's related to the level of compression. Is there a value/parameter that I could adjust (using Waves C1) down to test this? I don't want to lower the deesser threshold too much as is sounds muddy. Plug in settings - C1: low ref;makeup -1.7;threshold -15.6;ratio 2.41:1; attack 2.72 ; release 50 ; pdr 6 L1 : threshold -.3 ; out ceiling -.3 ; release 10.00 deEsser - audio 'split' ; freq 2000; sidechain 'highpass'; threshold -29.4 thanks, m7 Message last edited on1/12/2007 1:34:17 PM bymartin7. |

Maybe someone else can help more, but I'll start. Yes, compression effects sibilence... in a bad way. It brings it out! What about trying the desser (waves?) followed by a multi-band compressor? Also, you could compress the background tracks and the VO seperately. Just something to try. |
