The publishing option in ACID has nothing to do with copyrights i.e., "music publishing". It really should say "upload" because all it does is upload your files to ACID Planet. Don't forget, the word "publishing" in Internet terminology means deploying to a web site. (e.g., when you publish in MS FrontPage it uploads the files to your web site) ~jr

There are a lot of little details and urban myths surrounding the subject, but here is the short of it: When you affix the copyright sign or even the word "copyright" to your work, it is copyrighted. The problem is proving it. That is why there is registration through the Library of Congress.
