I just got sonyacid afew days ago... and have been going outta my mind on how to do something... how can i record for more than a minute and a half? Surely there is a way to adjust the timeframe to extent to maybe 4 minutes or more?

First of all, post your system specs. That will help us help you. Next, tell us specificly what you are wanting to do.

Which version/kind of acid do you own? Have you looked through the owner's manual?

You may have it in loop mode for 1 and a half minutes.
