Subject:Easy way to reduce levels....

I have tracks that I'm adding effects to via buses. Is there a one-step process to modify the volume level of these? Its annoying to put a volume envelope on the track, and have it do nothing because the friggin bus effects are still going.... I'd rather not have to do two envelopes every time to alter volume on these.

I wish a new bus that I ran these tracks through would modify them in their entirety.... effects and all.

Is this possible?

Thanks,

Rick

It sounds like you are routing the FX to a Bus as a SEND using Insert FX. This splits the signal running it to both the bus and master. You could do one of two things: Instead of using Insert FX use Insert Bus and then add the FX to the bus itself. This will route the entire track output to the bus and all the tracks assigned to that bus will be controlled by the bus volume and have the Bus FX added. The downside is that the entire output is processed by the FX so the wet/dry mix cannot be controlled individually at the track level anymore. Alternately you could continue to use Insert FX for the FX but also add a Bus and route all of the tracks to the Bus. The Bus will now control the volume of all of the tracks and the tracks will continue to be sent to the FX as well to control the FX mix for individual tracks.

One of those two should do what you want.
