Subject:Acid 6.0d plays wrong MIDI notes !! *SOLVED*

This is a very simple MIDI sequence created in Acid Pro 4 here. It's meant to play a scale from F5 to C4 (C4 is middle C). Once dragged and dropped in Acid Pro 6.0d, this sequence does not play the right notes : it plays D5 to A3 in the main window !!! However, it plays F5 to C4 (as expected) in the chopper... Obviously, there are still odd issues with MIDI in Acid pro 6. Please check it. Message last edited on1/2/2007 1:32:02 AM byPol Davril. |

> Obviously, there are still odd issues with MIDI in Acid pro 6. Nothing really odd about it at all. Your MIDI file has a root note defined in the key of C and so ACID is simply transposing the clip on the timeline to match the project key. It always displays the actual key in the Chopper and Piano Roll Editor because there may be several key changes in your song and it would make no sense to show the key change in those editors since they are not timeline specific. It will, however, show the key change in the in-line editor because that is relative to the clips position on the timeline and therefore relative to any key changes. Try dropping a Key Change marker in the middle of the clip and observe the change in the in-line editor. So it makes perfect sense. If you don't want this behavior, go into the Clip Pool and change the Key to None for that MIDI clip. ~jr Message last edited on12/31/2006 8:08:29 AM byJohnnyRoy. |

Thanks JohnnyRoy, I have understood. In fact, in Acid 4, a MIDI track is not transposed when the key of the project is changed. However, Acid 6 works in a different way. There are a lot of new features and different behaviors, which can create some confusion. Maybe I should read the user's manual... |
