Why don't you ask Sony?

This sound like a good idea.
It would especially help to get the name out there and let people know what can be done w/ Vegas.

Seems like everyone thinks you need Avid or FCP.
I think this would be an awesome idea... provided there are no legal ramifications. I don't see why there would be though. Afterall... if you did use Vegas... you're just letting people know.

Cinescore is more deserving than Vegas. It provided content.
So Music arranged by Joe Blow from Cinescore loops.

The other credits cover anything that form part of the entity itself or contribute any unique value to it e.g. special lenses (Panavision), film stock (Fuji), soundtrack (Dolby), cameras if something special or unusual.
So if the work was edited and mixed in Vegas then that's kind of unusual and deserves credit.
However all the technical credits I've seen include the trademarks so clearance would be needed.
You can also credit things not directly part of the production that you still feel deserve special thanks, could be the travel agent, the airline etc.

But, they all need clearance - which is why I said ask Sony. (If your product is crap, or worse, Sony may not want their name on it anywhere).

The product credits at the end of movies for the film, lenses, editor program, etc, are part of the payment for the use of those items. (I.E., the rent for a lens may be $5,000 plus credit).

I think you'll find that's not the case at all.
It'd certainly be the polite thing to do but I cannot imagine how trademark, copyright or patent law protects you from using the name of something, that'd impose absurd restrictions on all of us in every imaginable way.

You can say "The cast and crew drank Bacardi Rum", you can't use the Bacardi logo, that's a registered trademark which you most certainly need permission to use.

i dont see why you would want to give credits to an NLE.. i mean, we dont go around saying, "soundtrack mastered in a Yamaha 01V96 with Waves expansion card......"
You also dont see any NLEs mentined in feature movies, save from the Avid ACE tage after the editors name..

However i do agree that if content was created, then out of courtesy u might want to mention something, but i wouldnt make a big issue of it..
