RME makes excellent equipment. You can't go wrong there. The same is true for M-Audio so the Delta 1010 is a good choice if you have an external mixer and the FireWire 410 (which I have) is great if you just want to plug a mic or instrument directly into the interface. The Delta 1010 is 8 in/out but the Firewire 410 is only 2 in and 8 out.

I would stay away from the Emu 1820M. If you do a search in these forums you will find that owners of EMU interfaces have had a lot of problems getting them to work with ACID and my impression from these posts is that EMU is not very responsive to fixing the problems. Why even give yourself these headaches. Just stay away from EMU. They were a great company before Creative bought them. It's too bad.

The Motu 2408 is very happy with Acid..it has 8 inputs but with
the tdif you can add a couple of D38 or D88's for extra ins.

I would get a card which allows you to "play live" into Acid. For example, I use a Creamware Pulsar II. With that I boot up Acid and FL Studio. I rack up various synths in FL and then play them "live" direct into Acid as audio.

Not only does this get me the real-time live feel, but I also do all the recording internally.

If this appeals then I recommend either a Creamware card or a Terratec which I believe can also do this.

I have a secondary DAW with a "normal" soundcard and the lack of the Pulsar II's functionality makes it seem woefully restricted.
