Subject:Latency in Acid Music Studio

I just installed Acid Music Studio and I'm having a latency problem when trying to use the Sony Soft Synth with an external controller. If I trigger an external midi device there isn't a lag, but when I try to use the soft synth it's slow to respond (actually pretty useless). Any tips?
I was also disappointed that there seems to be no midi drum grid utilities in this low end version of ACID. Oh well....

Please fill out your system specs.

Depending on the type of audio hardware, you should lower the audio latency of your sound card. If your hardware supports ASIO drivers, you should select these as your audio device. If not, then lower the audio buffer size from the Audio preference page in ACID.
